Attendance Officer

Contract: Part time, Permanent (37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year. 08.00 am – 16.00 pm) Potential flexibility with hours can be discussed at interview.

Salary: Grade 3, SP7-10 (FTE £24,293 to £25,979 / Actual £20,778 to £22,220)

Start date: As soon as possible

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working person to join this successful and over-subscribed school.

You will be required to:

  • To contribute to raising achievement by improving School attendance.
  • To provide a specialist service to assist the School in meeting their obligations and targets in relation to School attendance, especially persistent absence.
  • To promote positive attitudes by students and families towards education and to ensure that parents are made fully aware of their statutory responsibilities.
  • To establish and develop a professional service to support the School in raising attendance, investigating persistent absences and improving punctuality.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who:

  • Can work independently but contribute to a strong team ethos.
  • Has experience in working in an administrative capacity.
  • Is willing to work flexibly.
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Is able to solve problems and be proactive.
  • Has an excellent sense of humour.
